And at the same time we’ll discuss other westerns: The winner of last year’s Sundance, Slow West with Fassbender, recently premiered in cinemas. In addition, Dmitry Kungurov is going to get really stubborn and start philosophizing about whether a Western should necessarily take place in the wild west.
Meanwhile, another pre-Oscar award was recently handed out: American Actors Guild Award (AGA Award)!). Let’s discuss what this means for DiCaprio.
In addition, let’s go over the latest news and through your efforts we will determine next week’s film.

This is the problem I have: https://betreelscasino.co.uk/games/ I’m not very fond of cinema and am interested in it (but I love listening to it, heh), so I don’t know its suitability in certain genres or types. If anyone can, please advise me on all sorts of good comedies, otherwise my parents like to watch stuff like this in the evenings, and their own choices don’t always hit the mark.
what kind of story awaits the western as a genre? Lately, many Westerns have failed commercially, well, except perhaps for Tarantino’s, although they are more likely to collect cash because Tarntino shot them, but in most cases it is not profitable to shoot expensive Westerns, so what will happen to this genre?
Max, Almost a year ago you risked your mental health and watched “50 Shades of Gray”, and recently a parody of this “wonderful” almost film was released. Would you like to repeat your feat and once again prove that on SG you have the strongest balls and psyche by watching “50 Shades” black»?
In addition, I would like to raise the topic regarding the genre of parodies itself. The genre is dead or still trying to somehow climb up, but all sorts of godless “Meet the Spartans” and “The Very Hunger Games” are not allowing it to squeeze through? All the “Naked Guns” (parodying TV series about cops), “Hot Shots” (who made fun of action films) and “Don’t be a Menace to South Central” (which ridiculed the entire Nigerian way of life) have already passed their anniversary, and I personally haven’t seen worthy representatives in this genre for a very long time. Or am I still mistaken and parodies live on, but for some reason I don’t notice them?
Since you’re going to be discussing Westerns, how about "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford"? If you watched it of course =)
HOT, AS REMEMBERED!
I’m not Max, but the topic of parodies interests me. From the last one I remember the film “The Cabin in the Woods”. It parodies youth horror films, but is executed much more subtly than the examples you cited. "The Shack" doesn’t just laugh at the tropes and clichés of the subgenre, it beats them, makes his unofficial rules his official laws.
As for good parodies, they certainly came out. But it will be difficult to find them, since they have already become worthy representatives of the genre that they parody (as has been the case since the time of Cervantes’ “Don Quixote”).
Doesn’t it seem like Hollywood is at a stalemate right now when it comes to stories??
There have been no new ideas for a long time and now they are just experimenting with presentation.
The same Lubezki is nothing more than an analogue of cool special effects and such hype around him will not last long?
That’s right, I just forgot about “The Shack”.
And yes, only the first paragraph was addressed to Max, but the second – to everyone in general.
